Ray was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis disease several years ago. It is a disease that thickens the tissues in your lungs and causes scar tissue to form eventually making it impossible to breathe. Ray has been put on hospice and is not expected to live through next year.
Meanwhile, Donna has been having issues with AFIB which causes an irregular heartbeat and is very dangerous. She has been hospitalized twice in the last month.
We want Donna and Ray to know how much they are loved. This quilt is a small way to show our love for them. There is love in the stitches....

Here is Min's story provided by her mother.
In 2020, Min went hiking with her niece and nephew to Twin Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It took 3 times longer than her normal time to finish the hike because her legs kept wanting to give out on her,
About 2 years later, walking became difficult and she started using a walking stick. She went to a chiropractor thinking she was out of alignment. After a month with only a small improvement, he told her to make an appointment with a neurologist. Even though she had difficulty walking, she continued to go to work.
In 2022, her right leg gave out on her and she fell at home. She went to the Emergency Room where she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She ended up staying in the hospital for 10 days. She came home with a walker.
After 14 months of physical therapy, she was given approval by her doctor to return to work with her walker.
Before her MS diagnosis, Min was an active person who loved to hike and bike. Currently, she can no longer hike and bike but hopes someday to be able to do them again.
MS affects everyone differently, but one thing that is common to all is fatigue. Even though Min lives with fatigue and weakness in her right leg, she still gets up and goes to work even though she would prefer to sleep. She has always been tenacious which has helped her to endure her limited mobility, fatigue and other MS symptoms. MS has turned her world upside down but she has remained cheerful, dependable, independent and does her best to help out as she is able. Min is an MS warrior.

Last month, Christina gave birth to a beautiful little stillborn baby girl. Since our young women made a quilt a few months ago for another family in our neighborhood who had a stillborn, they suggested we make another quilt when they heard about the loss of little Charlotte Ann.
Our hearts go out to this sweet family. Christina's book club friends donated the funds to have this quilt quilted.

This sweet lady, Jane Perlow, just received Quilt #126. For most people, when they retire, life gets a bit easier. Not for this dear lady. She has a husband who has gone blind over the last few years. He also just finished radiation therapy to get rid of his skin cancer. She also helps with the care of her sweet elderly mother. She has a daughter who struggles with emotional issues and has attempted suicide a few times in the last five years.
Jane also has a son who was hit on his motorcycle 10 weeks ago and has so many broken bones that he can't take care of himself. She has a niece. whom she helped raise, who just had a brain tumor removed and a brother who got into a bad trucking accident and needs extra help.
Jane just retired last year. It breaks my heart to see all that she is going through. I wish I had the time to make all her people quilts. I hope as she cuddles under this quilt, she will feel the love and support from so many people who love her and look up to her for all she does for her loved ones.

Cherie has recently been dealing with a number of family health issues including the passing of her mother.
Cherie has a warmth and intelligence that is so endearing to those who are lucky enough to know her. She has spent so much of her life caring for others. We just wanted her to know she is seen and so loved.

The Young Women in the Heritage Park 6th Ward decided to make a quilt for this sweet family. The girls had no experience making quilts but learned very quickly.
The stitches in this quilt are far from perfect and yet perfect in their imperfection. We hope as the Hall family wraps up in this quilt, they will feel love and comfort from God, from the ward, but especially from these young women.

Dandi has struggled with debilitating migraines and seizures for years. She was just put on some new medications and we are all praying that she will get some semblance of her life back.
Dandi enjoys Harry Potter so this traditional quilt has little bits of Harry Potter themed stitching throughout.

Sometimes we get to give a happy quilt. This is one of those. This quilt was given in honor of a very special birthday.
Lori Bunnell has been a force for good in my life for nearly 22 years. She is an amazing mother, grandmother and friend and has taught me so much over the years.
We had the good fortune to move next door to the Bunnell's back in 2001. She became a dear friend and listening ear. I still remember her wise and supportive parenting advice. My kids are better for it.
And though we have moved several times since, we have had the ability to stay in close contact.
There is so much love in the stitches for my wonderful friend, Lori.
Marilyn is also the main caregiver to her 95 year old father (although he is pretty independent).
We chose bright colors for her quilt to cheer her up. We chose the heart pattern for two reasons. First, because we love her so much, but mostly because her heart is so big and full of love.

These last few months she has had a few challenges of her own. Multiple wrecked vehicles, a case of Covid and family members needing additional nursing care.
This quilt was given to let her know, she is seen and appreciated by so many.
The note that accompanied the quilt written by one of the members, says exactly how we feel:
This is a belated birthday-friendship-you've been through a rough patch gift (quilt). We love you! We think the world of you. You are a constant in our lives we appreciate your calm, loving spirit. You enjoy beauty and you have helped us look at the world and seek out the beauty found in the arts.
We have learned to be more "family first" because of you. Your gracious spirit is the epitome of GRACE. You are a true disciple of Jesus Christ and we want to be more like you.
I recently read a quote from Donna Ashworth that applies especially to Cindy and frankly to all the members of Book Club, a group of women filled with gracious givers and receivers.
If every single person who has liked you in your lifetime, were to light up on a map, it would create the most glitteringly beautiful network you could imagine. Throw in the stranger you've been kind to, the people you've made laugh, or inspired along the way and that star-bright network of YOU would be an impressive sight to behold. You're so much more than you think you are. You have done so much more than you realize. You're trailing a bright pathway that you don't even know about. What a thing. What a thing indeed.
